For six months after I was born in 1978, I was the ONLY person in the world conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The expertise of scientist Robert Edwards and gynaecologist Patrick Steptoe had given hope to people all over the world with fertility problems. They believed it would help the whole world.

Today, there are between eight and ten million IVF babies in the world, including over one million in the United States.  I have been lucky enough to visit clinics and meet with IVF doctors, embryologists and their staff all over the world.

I first met Vios Fertility Institute at the Fertility Show in London in 2016 and I was struck by their enthusiasm and dedication. Since then, I have been to the Midwest and met many of their key people.

The team of doctors at Vios is made up of the all-female squad of intelligent, warm REI women and an amazing male urologist. Not only do they understand the issues that both women and men face when they want to have a baby, but they are inspiring and compassionate. They guide patients through every step of their fertility journey by preparing and supporting them through the emotional, physical and financial challenges.

Above all they see every woman and man that needs fertility help as an individual and treats them that way. That is why I am proud to support them in 2019 as the Vios Brand Ambassador in the USA.

Together, I believe we can support people in the USA and around the world who dream of one day having a family of their own. In 40 years, technology, science and social change has come a long way. There are now many different ways that people can access fertility care and no two families look the same.

I am learning about new developments in IVF and other fertility treatments every day and will be asking the experts at Vios Fertility questions to expand all of our knowledge on social media. So please follow along, join us and #AskVios questions of your own. Knowledge is power… and it allows each of us to make informed decisions regarding our reproductive health and dreams of our own family. My own Mum and Dad would be so proud to see what has been accomplished and I am sure would want us all to keep pushing the envelope of scientific advancement!
