So much has changed in the treatment of fertility and yet so many things remain the same. I visited Switzerland to visit the headquarters of Ferring, who are at the forefront of developing innovative treatments in reproductive medicine and women’s health.
I met staff and talked to their President and Chief Science Officer Per Falk in a conversation that was broadcast to their offices around the world. The theme of our chat was how the difficulties faced by mum and dad in the 1970s are much the same as the difficulties faced by people today.
While technology, pharmaceuticals and techniques have moved on there is still much to be done to overcome the problems of access, affordability and cultural issues. Here is an article by Per Falk that perfectly sums up the event.
